Event: Annual Meeting

Where: St. Thomas’ Parish Church, 1772 Church Street, NW (the southeast corner of 18th Street, NW). 

DCCA’s annual meeting is a members-only event at which DCCA officers report to the membership, and the membership elects officers and Directors.  (Remember, you may join at the door.) 

This year, attendees also will hear from community members who chair, spearhead, and are otherwise well-informed about the efforts of various DCCA committees and related projects.  Please come and learn about the accomplishments and plans of these groups and how you can participate in upcoming efforts.  Areas of interest include charitable giving and the homeless, education (local public schools), DCCA membership and meeting programs, public safety, the environment, zoning and licensing/regulation, the Dupont Circle House Tour, and Dupont Circle Village—Aging-in-Place.

DCCA's membership meetings generally are held on the first Monday of the month, October through June, at 7:30 pm. Please join us on the following Mondays:

Thanks To

DCCA thanks everyone who participated in our March and April membership meetings.

In March, the panel on Planning and Historic Preservation included Harriet Tregoning, Director of the District of Columbia’s Office of Planning, David Maloney, Director of OP’s Historic Preservation Office and State Historic Preservation Officer, Tersh Boasberg, Chairman of DC’s Historic Preservation Review Board, and Rick Busch, President of the Dupont Circle Conservancy and was moderated by our former President, Bill Glew.

In April, the panel on Being an Effective Local Activist included restaurateur Mark Medley on small business advocacy, Ed Lazere from the D.C. Fiscal Policy Institute, former ANC Commissioner and Zoning Commission chair Carol Mitten on zoning and land use, ANC Commissioner Phil Carney on environmental policy, and moderator Dave Mallof, who advocates for improved transparency in the process of selling government-owned property.

Thanks also to those who hosted the meetings: The Congressional Club and Lydia de La Vina de Foley, the Club's Administrative Assistant; and Green Door and its President and CEO, Judith Johnson, and Director of Development, Maureen Jais-Mick.
